Product Description
Infinity uses the same textile dome tweeters found in many of their popular home speakers with this Kappa system, so you'll hear the music the way it was recorded with minimal coloration or distortion. The tweeters handle down to 2,500 Hz, almost an octave below the tweeters in many systems, so you'll hear more definition and detail, no matter where you sit. Infinity includes mounting hardware to install the tweeters in custom or factory openings.
The computer-optimized outboard crossover networks employ audiophile-grade components to separate highs and lows, so that the woofer and tweeter work together perfectly. You can attenuate tweeter response by 6 dB to get the perfect sonic balance if you've mounted the tweeters in a less-than-ideal factory location.
Pre-wired crossovers eliminate a time-consuming step in your installation, and terminals at the end of the crossover wires screw directly to the Kappa woofers and tweeters, leaving no chance for incorrect wiring.

Key Features
Plus One woofer cones
The Plus One cone on the Kappa series provides more overall speaker-cone area than others in its class. With an effective increase in cone area, the speaker radiates more air. Also, the woven glass fiber woofer cone material produces a lighter and stiffer cone. The result is a better low-frequency response and a greater ability to make those important nearly tangible musical notes that people often associate with a larger speaker size.
Woven glass fiber woofer cones
Woven glass fiber woofer cone material is both extremely stiff and very light. This minimizes cone flex while allowing the cone to react quickly which yields very low distortion, improved clarity and deep low frequency response; all Infinity trademarks.
Ultra-wideband UHF soft-dome tweeters
The ultra-wideband UHF tweeter used on the 60.9cs delivers improved vocals, smooth high-frequency response and accurate music reproduction all the way out to 35kHZ.
Ultrahigh-frequency response (up to 35kHz)
A wide frequency response that extends to 35kHz helps compensate for speaker placement variations in the car and human hearing deficiencies in the high-frequency spectrum above 15kHz. The result is that the Infinity Kappa 60.9cs component speakers deliver more of the full-range frequency response that you associate with great sound.
True Four Ohm Impedance
All Kappa speakers feature two ohm voice coils. Original factory-installed speaker wiring in many cars is 18-22 gauge. This wire, and heating in the voice coil when power is applied, increase the impedance “seen” by the amplifier or head unit. The impedance of Kappa Speakers has been adjusted to compensate for this increase and provides more output than factory speakers or others in its class.
Computer-optimized voice-matched outboard passive crossovers
Each Kappa multielement and component system features an outboard crossover that has been voice-matched for flawless performance. They feature only the best parts including including low-hysteresis polypropylene capacitors, low-loss air-core inductors and high-quality resistors. The result is high-performance sound with incomparable clarity, detail and accuracy.
Adjustable, push-button tweeter level control
The Infinity Kappa 60.9cs component speakers feature 0-decibel and -6 decibel settings to custom-tune higher frequencies. Custom tuning allows users to optimize the sound for different in-vehicle locations. You can easily adjust the tuning by pushing a button on the passive crossover.
I-Mount tweeter-mounting hardware
The Infinity Kappa 60.9cs component tweeter includes the I-Mount (U.S. patent number 5,859,917) tweeter-mounting system, which allows easy flush mounting or surface mounting, giving you more installation options.
Starfish Tweeter OEM Mounting Adapter
The 60.9CS component system comes with the Infinity’s patented Starfish tweeter mounting adapter. This adapter allows for easy installation of the tweeter behind factory grilles. It also provides six break-off mounting tabs to accommodate many mounting configurations. The result is easy, straightforward installation in nearly any vehicle.
